Acupuncture is not “folk medicine.”  It is a highly developed, systematic, recorded, researched, and peer reviewed form of medicine.  It has a massive amount of real-world data to justify the application of techniques based on several thousand years of human trials.

The National Institute of Health’s studies show that it is the most promising of all the complementary and integrative methods researched so far.  More people have been treated by acupuncture throughout history than by all other medical treatments combined.

Acupuncture is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine’s view of the body as a system of organs and tissues that are connected by pathways called “meridians.” These pathways are channels through which life energy is passed to each of the body’s systems to keep them properly nourished and functioning.  If the pathways become blocked, the tissues and organs that are not receiving the energy can become painful or dysfunctional.  Acupuncture helps the body to heal in a natural manner without pain or harmful side effects.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

Think of yourself as a computer and the acupuncture points are like the keys on your keyboard. By sending information into the brain via neural receptors on the skin, acupuncture produces neurochemical and electrical triggers that tell the body to begin correcting this or that function, relax this or that muscle, produce more of this hormone, and less of that one, and so on.  There are more than 350 acupuncture points on the body that help restore a normal flow of life energy.

Physical Therapy
We offer an on-site physical therapy center staffed with experienced physical therapists able to manage any injury or condition. Our patients receive personalized attention with certified, licensed professionals.
Your therapist will work closely with you and your physician for a quick and complete recovery from your injuries as well as provide a personal atmosphere where you feel at home while receiving your rehablitiation services.

We offer an on-site x-ray machine. An x-ray produces a picture of bones as well as many other areas of the body. It is done to determine whether a bone has been fractured, dislocated, or to look for certain structural abnormalities in the body.
We offer an on-site MRI. An MRI is noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic pulses (no radiation) to make pictures of organs and structures of the body.  An MRI creates three-dimensional images of the body's structures including the spinal cord and muscles, and may provide information in which can not be seen on a conventional x-ray, ultrasound, or computed tomography (CT) scan. This procedure assists physicians in the diagnosis of medical conditions and disorders.
When an MRI test is performed, the area of the body being scanned is placed inside the MRI machine. In some cases, a contrast material may be needed during the MRI in order to see desired tissue more clearly.

Bone Densitometry
We offer an on-site bone density machine. Bone densitometry is a nonsurgical method of measuring bone density. Bone density (BMD) is a measurement used to estimate bone strength and the likehood of bones to break (fracture) with simple trauma. Thus, bone densitometry is a nonsurgical method that can be used to assess fracture risk. However, it is only part of an overall assessment of fracture risk that your physician or healthcare provider can perform.
